The Legend of Zelda:
Tears of the Kingdom Review

A breath of fresh air.

The Road So Far

The week before Tears of the Kingdom launched, I completed the campaign for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. In almost every way, Jedi Survivor is an objectively better game than its predecessor, addressing many of the criticisms from Jedi Fallen Order while creating a fun, new and exciting adventure for Cal and his crew. While also a direct sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom finds itself in a unique position, as its predecessor The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is widely viewed as one of the best games of all time. After the critical acclaim of Breath of the Wild and six years of anticipation for an inevitable sequel, the question is can Nintendo do it again?

The short answer, yes/no.

From the beginning.

Note: This review will contain spoilers.

At the start of Tears of the Kingdom we find our hero in the same Hyrule where we saw Zelda and him defeat Ganon during the climactic battle of Breath of the Wild.

In the previous title, Breath of the Wild, you were able to experience a new world of Zelda with the “freedom to go wherever and do whatever you want.” In the sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, furthermore, the player’s free imagination will be filled with new gameplay that will bring about changes to the game world.
